Charles Lamb is famous as the Prince of English essayists. After studying for seven years at Christ’s Hospital, where he earned the friendship of Coleridge, Lamb obtained clerkship in South Sea House. But soon he left his job and joined the East India Company.

Lamb’s life span was from 1775 unto 1834 and at that time the Company was mostly cruel with the people of East Indies, and as Lamb’s essays are mostly autobiographical I was thinking if inhumane nature of the Company affected his themes of writing and how?
